How do Vacuum’s work

Vacuum Constriction Devices (VCD) have been widely prescribed as a medical device for men suffering from erectile dysfunction. The application of vacuums for increasing penile length and or girth, however, has not been clinically proven.

The Vacuum Constrictor Device  consists of a cylinder with a pump attached to it. The pump is usually located at the end of the vacuum and the pumping action allows blood to rush into the different blood compartments within the penis. This rush of blood allows  for temporarily stronger erections. When the penis reaches its maximum size, a ring is slipped from the cylinder onto the bottom of the penile shaft. Anatomy of the Penis

The shaft of the penis is formed by overlapping tissues which are composed of spongy tissues and blood vessels. The amount of blood that enters the blood compartments determines the size and strength of the erection. The size of the penis is not effected by the frequency or lack of it’s use. Negative Effects of Using Vacuum Pumps

Vacuum Constriction Devices are usually used for patients suffering from erectile dysfunction. This type of treatment has both positive and negative effects to the patient. Do Vacuums Increase Penile Length or Girth?

Vacuum Constrictor Devices are effective for treating people with erectile dysfunction disorders. Autologous Dermal Grafts are complex medical procedures and skin tissue implants takes a couple of hours to finish. This procedure also requires multiple surgeries as skin is harvested from one part of the body and transplanted to the penis.

The skin contains nerves and loss of sensation in portions of the body where skin is harvested is expected. Autologous Dermal Grafts require skin and some tissue to be removed before transplant. Dermal Graft

Penile Enhancement could be attempted using dermal grafts from the patient’s own skin and tissues. These procedures are also called Dermal Fat Grafts or DFG.  However it is still best for a patient to study all options available before choosing what they believe works best for them.

What are Dermal Grafts?

Dermal Grafts are used for a number of common surgical methods which are practiced for a wide variety of surgical and cosmetic treatments. Dermal grafts are types of skin grafts wherein a part of the patient’s skin is surgically harvested.  Skin taken from certain parts of the body is then transplanted to other areas.

There are many types of dermal grafts; split-thickness skin grafts (STSG), full-thickness skin grafts (FTSG), and composite skin grafts. In composite skin grafts, skin, fats and cartilage are taken for reconstruction or enhancement of other body parts.

How is Dermal Grafting Performed in Penile Augmentation?

DFG or composite skin grafts are used by some doctors for penile enlargement procedures.  Skin and fat is taken from other areas such as the abdominal or buttocks areas and used as materials for creating a skin graft for DFG. The dermis along with the fat attached to it is preserved and transferred for penile enhancement. Grafts are usually taken from the lower back, lower abdomen or at the top of the legs below the buttocks because these areas are usually hidden.  The skin graft is then transplanted and wrapped around the penis to form the desired thickness and length. The area is then allowed to heal until the tissue is settled on the penile structure. The operation leaves scars that may be minimized if performed by a qualified surgeon.

Are there any risks involved when using dermal grafts?

Bruising and trauma due to surgery are expected, and immediately placing cold compresses over the areas could limit these side effects. The surgical areas are usually very tender and delicate, so sexual activities are therefore discouraged until the penis is fully healed. However, urinating thru the penis should not  be a problem after surgery.
DFG requires complicated surgery and this type of procedure makes patients more susceptible to infections. Infections can be prevented and treated by antibiotics if necessary.

Is DFG effective for penile enlargement?

Dermal Fat Grafts are partially effective for penile enlargement procedures in some instances. DFG’s long term effects however are mixed and yet to be proven. One major  problem reported with DFG is that penile girth and length  may well be lost over time as the tissues are absorbed and integrated into the penile structure.

Dermal Fat Grafts (DFG) vs. Alloderm

Patients who wish to undergo penile enlargement procedures thru tissue grafts may want to opt for DFG over Alloderm transplants. This is because of decreased chances of the patient’s body developing tissue rejection. It is also more inexpensive than Alloderm because tissues are taken from the patient’s own body. Results of DFG also typically show a thicker penile composition compared to Alloderm implants. This also translates into fewer surgeries typically required to achieve the desired  outcome.

Disadvantages of Dermal Grafts

Dermal grafts offer few advantages as a method for penile enhancement, although there are many disadvantages posed by this procedure. One of the disadvantages is that penile enhancements done by DFG likely will not be permanent. Improvements may well be lost over time as the transplanted tissues are slowly absorbed by the penile tissues.

Another problem posed by dermal grafts is the difficulty of accurately estimating how much tissue is needed to accomplish the desired effect. Therefore, patients may need to undergo a series of operations before the actual desired length and shape is achieved.

The ultimate result of the operation is hard to determine as time is needed before final results are evident. Transplanted tissues for augmentation may appear normal after surgery but may cause  an irregular shaped penis or a deformed appearance over time.

Some patients also complain of decreased sensation in the penile area. The risk of nerve damage is always present during surgery.  The loss of some functions is also a danger, and carefully studying your options for penile enhancement should always be practiced.

Medications

Drugs contain many chemicals which affect multiple human body functions. In order for us to better understand if these drugs could  truly increase a man’s penis size safely and permanently, it is important that we know the effect of the drugs on the body.

Drugs effect only the rate at which existing biological functions proceed. Drugs do not change the basic nature of these functions or create new functions.
